Tuesday May 10, Day 3 in Chile

We got to sleep in this morning, but due to being out a little later then expected last night I work up on the earlier side to blog and attempt to grab a cup of coffee at the McDonalds. I did the whole coffee thing wrong by getting it at the McCafé but I learned for next time.
After eating a light breakfast the hotel we did the same drill as yesterday. Once we arrive to the university we were almost like pro’s at getting around. We got to classroom to find out it was locked. Then we got to see true Chilean time.  So after about 45 minutes of waiting Jamie, our professor for the day was ready to go. We listen to the first part of a lecture about Chilean business. The lecture then turned into Latin American business and how it all works.
Today when it was finally time for lunch around 1:00 we hit rush hour at the cafeteria. But they move people pretty fast there. Lunch today consisted of Chilean pizza. This was break with tomatoes, ham and cheese. It was not as bad as I thought.  While inline a few of us weren’t really sure about the how getting dessert worked so we grabbed grapes and flan. That was a mistake. After getting yelled out we all went for just keeping the grapes.
After lunch we proceeded back to the classroom where we sat there for a 3 and half hour lecture about Latin American business from Jamie. We also learned from Jamie a lot of interesting facts about himself and the Universidad Tecnica Federico Santa Maria. Finally to finish up our day we ended with salsa lesson. It was pretty funny seeing every one try and dance like the instructor. It was also extremely exhausting, because when you can’t dance its like you around just jumping around for an hour straight.
Tomorrow is a very busy day. It is our first day we get to go on company visit so we are waking up really early. I am very excited because we are going to Conservas Centauro, which is the company I am doing my whole project on. I can’t wait to see how the tomatoes are actually canned and made into sauce.
